Media error when reupload file of the same name in WordPress, do not know you have met the case or not. Today when I was working on my blog. Taking pictures, editing photos and posting to blogs is a job i have to do.

Wordpress media error that I encountered

As usual, I named the image file. Upload it to Media in my blog. When I write articles and add them to the article. I found out that the image was a bit incorrect and needed to be repaired.

For example, I named it danieblog-image.jpg. When I edit the image, I delete the old image in the Media and upload the new one.

Illustrations for my article.

I discovered that when I added new image to the post, it still displayed old image. I tried several times and the results are still the same. Something is not right and I have not figured out what the cause is.

Resolve media error

Of course I do not know exactly what caused the error. Anyway, this is not really a serious error affecting my blog’s activity.

If Media in Wordpress does not accept multiple reuploaded files with the same name, I will rename the file. And I add a number to the end of the file name. For example, danieblog-image.jpg to danieblog-image-01.jpg.

Then, I upload the new file and the new name, add it some posts. Everything’s fine.

(This is an article from my old blog that has been inactive for a long time, I don’t want to throw it away so I will keep it and hope it helps someone).
